This is one of four photographs (circa 1930) taken from a single session with a child acrobat. One image shows the girl holding a bouquet of flowers, suggesting she won some kind of competition and these photos were taken to celebrate the occasion. Acrobatics was a sport that required flexibility and strength, but not a lot of expensive equipment. In China, acrobatics was very popular and considered an ancient art form. That interest carried over to Canada. Courtesy of Neill & Mabel Chan Family.
